My story – Why “WENDO”?

I grew up in the midst of Kenya's beautiful nature – without electricity, without running water, often barefoot, but full of hope.

When the rain came, the roof leaked and the whole house got wet.
I walked 10 kilometers to school every day – barefoot, with an empty stomach, but with a burning dream in my heart.

My family couldn't afford my school fees. But a group of strong women in the village – through a "merry go-round" – raised the money so I could continue my studies. Thanks to their courage, solidarity, and my own determination, I made it: You can make it as well!

I've personally experienced all the challenges that many young people still face today. And I see how desperately and hopefully they search for opportunities. Unfortunately, dubious agencies exploit precisely this: They promise paths abroad, charge high fees—and shatter dreams. Parents sell their land, get into debt, and forgo everything—just to give their children a future. Far too often, it ends in disappointment.

That's why Wendo exists.

I want to support them honestly, transparently, and with an open heart. I give back to the community what it once gave me. I want to open the door to Germany for young people from rural areas—not with empty promises, but with genuine support: through language, structure, and trust.

When you learn at Wendo, it's not just about German. It's about building a bridge – from your origins to your future. So that you bring light home. So that your parents' tears weren't in vain. So that you can come back – one day – and change your country.

Because home is home. And my heart beats for a strong, just, new Kenya.
